Duplicate products: how the system recognizes a product
On a repeated load, the system finds an already loaded product and updates it instead of creating a duplicate.
- It looks first by SKU and barcode (EAN).
- If there are none, by the internal product ID in the supplier price list.
- If there is none either, by the exact product name. So duplicates are not created, but two different products with the same name will merge into one.
- If different products in the price list itself have the same SKU, a conflict icon with the number of matches appears next to the SKU in "Product Overview".
- "Product Deduplication Mode" in the supplier form: if you turn on "Allow Duplicates", every row of the price list becomes a separate product. Rarely needed, for example for variants without their own article numbers.
